Week 9-to 2nd December->7 months to go!

Some things starting to move now on the training front … work is still a bit of a vacuum - some redundancies recently, and little or no new Sales coming in. I wonder what our new owners are thinking! But who cares about that, this is about much more important things… started quite tired though, as the Sunday involved a long long day going over to England to see the TriExpo see other posting.Got my act together and got back on the TREK, my auld reliable, for a Turbo bike session. The first of the year - the first for a long long time. So the session was as much about getting into the groove and getting sorted as the actual work out itself. So I ended up with a Z2 - Endurance Session - 10 mins warmup, then 6 mins at the higher end of the Z2 range (so about 138 BPM) followed by 4 mins at the lower end of the Z2 range (about 123 or so) and do this 4 times, with a warm down. The turbo wasn’t quite right, as there would be some times when i’d feel the back magnetic ‘drum’ slipping if i were to be applying max pressure/power. But still and all, good to be back … will i be able to do such sessions regularly ? Followed this with another similar session - still watching the Foix - Loudenville stage on the DVD on the Sunday. Much tireder after the Sunday session.

Still no running. I had another physio session and things are moving in the right direction. Without thinking I done a brisk jog to the car when at the kids training session, and thankfully no negative reactions. More ultrasound, more massage, more streching. One more physio and then i’m hopefully ready to rock once again. That’ll be four sessions in total with her - no change from 240 yo-yos! However at least i know that biomechanically if that’s the right term I’m okay, my orthotics are okay and i’m good to proceed towards IMDE and in time ramp up the training.

Swimming - again the three early morning sets. Monday just doesn’t seem to work for me, and so its Wednesday through Friday that the alarm is set now for 6:30 to get me to the pool for hopefully 7:20-7:25 and in the water for 7.30. Usually i’m a wee bit later perhaps but i stay till the end.

Thursday was a great session .. the first 6.5 mins continuous swim … i ended up miles ahead of my lane-buddies (10 lengths). This was without particularly trying or pushing myself … i really felt in the zone. Suffered a wee bit towards the end of the session, but well pleased. Tried to do the 4 * 100s off 2.10 which was probably too much of a jump given that the usual Lane 2 is a 2.30 at least. Got 3 of them, but 4th was a no-no.

Total 4h:30m    2h (44%)    2h:30m (55%)
